Guestbook
Stephanie - I was in New Orleans in August for a Norton trip. Thought of you and searched out that bar that serves the Mind Erasers. Ordered a large and toasted you. Hope all is well. Email us with your latest. ted@tedslaststand.com. - M

David - the arm was last spotted in the mouth of a hunting dog streaking across our field with Whipper in hot pursuit. Cold weather has arrived, so perhaps it will be preserved for a few more months while you plan your next expedition. Yours, M

Dear Nancy, Jenn and Alissa - We're so happy that you like the book. Please email us anytime with questions.
Nancy - We do grow Celosia, but the plume variety. it's very similar to what you grew. And yes, Celosia last a very long time in the vase and you can hang it upside down to dry it. It's a very nice dried flower. If you'd like to trolley or bike over to our farm you can help with the work any time!
Cheers, M & A

Hey! Just stumbled across this - I've been thinking of you both since SIBA and want to congratulate you on the book! Be well.

I've been reading the notebook. Seems like you are getting a very nice variety of responces. I have just gone back to the sources and am ordering wingley wire. Thanks. I hope to return soon to continue the search for the arm. If you get any new clues please pass them on. Give Ferdi my best, love David

Just finished reading your really interesting book. Our son coaches volleyball at Wash. & Lee. When we go down to see him we will try and visit your market.
I just grew a great plant that gave me neat flowers all summer and now fall. It is a Wheat Celosia called Ruby Parfait from Johnny's Seeds. I started it indoors April 4 ..needs light.
The flowers are two toned and last a long time indoors, too. The more you cut , the more it blooms! You might like to try it if you haven't already.
My great grandmother sold flowers in Erie Pa in the early 1900's. The whole extended family worked several acres outside of town. Took a trolley or bike after work to help out. They did
heaps of canning of the fruit and vegetables.

So far, I am very pleased with your book! I love to grow my own fruits, veggies and animals. Keep up the great work informing others!! Jenn

I am a city girl, born and bred, and my husband and I have been discussing moving to a hobby farm. He has experience on a farm, but I wanted to do some research and have been a bit nervous about such a change. I am just about done with your book and have found it so interesting, helpful and inspiring! I really have learned so much. Thanks for a great book!
Alissa
Dear Patricia and Melanie - Thanks so much for your kind comments. It's so nice to hear from folks who've read the book and appreciate it (and aren't our family members!). Let us know if you have any questions as you pursue your farm adventures. Cheers, Audrey and Michael

M & A,
Just finished a new waterline with Kerry who is now staking out his drip irrigation that he researched from the book. Thanks, except that it was damned hard work in a hot sun. David

I am enjoying the book, just picked it up today from Barnes and Noble. I have just started my "farm" consisting of 1 pepper plant, 1 tomato plant and 1 zucchini...talk about starting small! As a Raleigh, NC city dweller, space is a premium! We are native Virginians though, from Prince William County.

My dream is to have a farm to hobby around on. Born and raised in North Dakota to a farm boy and a city girl, but the county flows through my veins. Thank you for a great book/ guide to help develop my dream. I look forward to searching and creating my own farm one day in the future.

Thanks for the belt. I had no idea how attached my idenity was to it.
Michael, Thanks for the photo of Rico p-183 in thew book... Despite his character he is quite hanson here and a great asset to the farm. And thanks for the visit. i am negociating with Kerry to build more of Wally Parks tomato cages just to keep inpractice.

Just found your web site after listening to the interview on the IRN. We are big fans of Dr. Larry Bates and Jim Bakker. Jim is teaching us how to prepared as we enter into the end of this Age of Grace...

Thanks Suzanne - We spend most days pretending we're living in the 60's or 70's, although we rarely garden naked. We do sell off the farm occasionally, but we're about 9 miles south and west of Gordonsville (even though we still have a G-Ville address), so it might not be very convenient for you. If you make it in to Charlottesville often, you can find us at the City Market on Saturdays from 7-Noon and at Meade Park (beginning in May) on Wednesdays from 3-7pm. Thanks again for visiting. Cheers, M&A

Love your web site and your efforts to use the environment in a healthy way. My family and I did this in the late 60's early 70's. At that time it was not accepted as well as it is today. Good luck with your efforts. I live about 19 miles from Gordonsville and would use your products if they are available locally. Is it possible to place orders for pick up? Good luck..........

Thanks Shelley - we started with just a few raised beds and a couple of chickens. The farm has grown organically to its current size. Just start small and see where it leads you. Best of luck and stay in touch. All best, M&A

I started reading your book today, and I wanted to say thank you for writing it! I thought I was the only one who would want to consider farming as a 'hobby' instead of just a job. Your book is incredibly informative, and while your farm seems quite a bit bigger than anything I really have in mind for myself, it gives me hope that I can do this myself someday. Thanks!!
Shelley
Just received the book yesterday and been exploring the website today. I'm very excited about it all, and look forward to our interview on April 13th. For all fans and friends, listen to WFLO on the 13th at 8:05am for a live interview with Michael and Audrey about the farm and their new book.

Dear Michael,
Kristin was in last week, and I was very delighted to see that you and your wife have a book! Huzzah! And such a fine manifesto for your to-be-envied-by-the-suburban-bound-and-chained lifestyle. Congratulations to you
Wishing you steady nerves and effective climate control,
